Our second annual book fair has now launched!

This year Fresh Blue Ink presents our book fair in Stittsville. Although we are based in North Kanata, our preferred venue was not available this year, so we have moved one suburb over. We are thrilled to hold the Fair in a venue with such great visibility, as it is located on Stittsville Main Street.

Fresh Blue Ink has discovered a wonderful new Canadian author, Dennis Johnston.
For his first release, we have selected his novella, “A Momentary Lapse of Good Judgement”.

Fresh Blue Ink policy on AI use

Here at Fresh Blue Ink we create fiction unassisted by any LLM or AI technology. All our fiction is directly created by an actual human.

Artificial Intelligence seems a misnomer. Perhaps what we have is better termed Simulated Intelligence, as this technology mimicks the output of an intelligence, but in actuality, possesses none. It should also be noted that current AI all invariably suffer information gaps, ethics gaps, perspective gaps, and hallucinations.

Having written this, it is time to admit we do use AI, but NEVER to write, only to produce images for publicity purposes, and also to prompt or inform our human book cover designers. The publicity image for our 2025 book fair was generated via a free trial of the OpenAI image generator.

Our readers can rest assured that Fresh Blue Ink would never try to pass off stochastic semi-digested textual regurgitation as the original, creative work of an individual.

Meet the author, R.M. Kozan, and purchase a signed first edition of “The New Planet Policy” on Saturday, August 24th, from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Coles (Indigo) bookstore in the Bayshore Shopping Centre.

The mall is located at 100 Bayshore Drive in Ottawa (formerly Nepean), and the bookstore is located on Level 3, directly across from the food court. Free parking available in adjacent structure.
